I started my weight loss journey in March this year. Work was having a contest to see who could lose the most, and I joined.

I Lost around 12lbs, and I wanted to keep going.

I saw an online post about “average to awesome” and asked my friend if she’d like to do it with me. Our boss caught wind of what we were doing and turned us on to Friction CrossFit.

I was kind of hesitant on joining because of how intense the workouts looked. I was so far out of shape and not feeling very confident.
I was told that CrossFit was different, people are not judgmental and are supportive unlike your traditional gym.
I said ok.
So the first day came. It was terrible.
The WOD was so hard and I didn’t think I was going to make it.
I finished it but left crying because I just knew I couldn’t do it. I didn’t even know why I even tried.
But I kept going day after day.
I fell in love with CrossFit.
My life has changed to much since that first WOD I did.
I’ve had so many gains and losses. I want more!
Down 40lbs, 3 pant sizes. I will not stop.
I want to be the best version of me that I can.

Weightlifting Wednesday: Nutrition

“As far as nutrition goes for weightlifting, it doesn’t have to be different than the one we would prescribe for any CrossFitter: meats, veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar. ” – Coach Mike

Weightlifting Thursday: Gear

“Ideally, with this equipment we are using it once we get close to a competition or scheduled max out in order for us to get used to that gear and what it does to our body. We are trying to peak at the right time with our strength and have all aspects dialed in. ” -Coach Mike
